Types of Memberships
Life Membership
Life Membership shall be conferred by the Executive Council on an application to duly submitted by those who are board certified or deemed to have been board certified in dental surgery, oral surgery / Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the postgraduate institute of medicine and registered as a specialist in the Sri Lanka Medical Council and provided they are currently engaged in the active practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Trainee Membership
Trainee Membership is conferred by the Executive Committee by application to those who are undergoing training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the postgraduate institute of medicine in Sri Lanka.
Honorary Fellowship Member
Honorary membership is conferred by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the Executive Council for recognition and appreciation of services rendered by an individual in achieving the objectives of the COMSSL.
An application for admission to membership shall be made on the prescribed form and payment of admission fee prescribed from time to time by the Executive Council.
Fellowship shall be conferred by the Executive Council on an application duly submitted by those who fulfill the following criteria.
- Individuals to be considered should have been life members for at least 15 years and
- Have made a significant contribution to the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery through service provision, contribution to development of services, research, teaching or publications.
