The COMSSL is a distinguished professional body representing the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Our mission remains steadfast: to advance surgical knowledge, promote clinical excellence, and foster evidence-based practices that directly benefit patient care and the wider community.

At present, our members are spread across all districts of the country, delivering dedicated and compassionate care to the people. The greatest strength of our College lies in the collective unity of its membership. Through collegiality, mutual respect, and professional solidarity, we are well-positioned to elevate the standing of our specialty and ensure that our service to patients remains of the highest standard. It is only through this unity of purpose that we can sustain progress, safeguard our professional values, and enhance the visibility and relevance of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within the broader healthcare system.

Looking ahead, the College is committed to pursuing several key objectives. Foremost among these is the strengthening of postgraduate education and training, ensuring that our specialists are equipped with the competencies required to meet both current and emerging challenges in healthcare. In parallel, we aim to cultivate a culture of scholarly research, fostering innovation that will contribute meaningfully to the global body of knowledge in our field.

Equally important is the need to expand collaborative engagement—both within Sri Lanka and with regional and international professional organisations. Such partnerships will facilitate the sharing of expertise, exposure to diverse practices, and the creation of opportunities for our members to contribute on global platforms.
